GroupWise
Proxy Access
(How to Share email and calendars between users)
GroupWise has the ability to allow clients to share their email and calendars with each other. It is a very simple process to set up, but requires small changes to be made for both the person sharing the calendar, and the person viewing the other's calendar.
Owner Configuration: (Done by the person who wishes to share his/her calendar)
1. On the main GroupWise window, click on "Tools"; then click on Options.
"
width="383" height="286">
2. Double-click on the Security icon (looks like a bank safe).

3. You should now see the Security options windows. Click on the Proxy Access
Tab at the top of the window.

4. From that window click on the address book next to the "Name" field

5. Now from the Novell GroupWise
Address Book double click on the name of the person you want to give proxy
access to.
Then click "OK"

6. Click on the person's name in
the Access list box. Then grant that person access to your calendar by clicking
on the little check boxes beside the rights you wish to grant. Usually, access
is only given to read and write to someone's calendar as per this picture.

You can also grant access to your mail and other aspects of GroupWise from this window by checking on the appropriate buttons.
7. Click "OK", and then click "Close" on the Options window.
8. Your GroupWise is now set up so that the chosen person (or persons) can access it. Now they need to set it up on their account.
Viewer Configuration: (Done by the person who wishes to view another person's calendar)
1. Click on the tiny proxy button in the bottom left corner of the main GroupWise window.

Note: In GroupWise 6.5, the proxy button is located where it says “Online” in the upper left, below the Address Book button.
2. Click on "Proxy" in the resulting menu.

3. Type in the name of the person whose mailbox you wish to access or use the address book to search for that person's name. Click "OK" to add that person to your Proxy list.

4. You can now switch back and forth between your account and the other
person's by clicking on the proxy button and choosing the account that you wish
to view. Your GroupWise program will always default to your own account at boot
up.

5. You can also view both your
own calendar and the other client's at the same time by using the Multi-view
option on the calendar screen.
¨ Click on "Calendar" on the left hand side of your main GroupWise
window.
¨ You should see the main calendar view on the right hand side of the GroupWise Window. Click on the "Multi-user" tab.

¨ You should see today's entries for your own calendar, as well as any others
that you have access to.
¨ If not, click on the Multi-user button on the left.

¨ Check to see if that user is checked on in the Multi-user List. If not, click on the checkbox to select that user, and click "OK".

You should now be set up for proxy access.
