ACCESS Education Programs


How do I qualify for this program?

You must be 21 years of age or older by the start of the September session.
You must be a representative of an inner-city population (do not have to live in the inner-city).
Be in need of acedemic, personal, or financial supports in order to pursue a university degree.

How long does the program take?

The Bachelor of Education program takes five years to complete. 
Access Education runs it's program from September thru to July to accomodate a slightly lighter load during the year to assist in our flexibility of the program.

What kind of teacher will I be once the program is completed?

You will become a kindergarten to grade 8 teacher in the early years stream.

How do I get an application?

You must attend one of the following information sessions held in November, December, January or February each year.

Can I enter the program with a completed BA/BSC?

You cannot come into this program with more then 27 credit hours of university coursework completed. 
The reason for this is if you've completed a degree you do not have academic need.

Is there any financial support for this program?

Access Education does have funding available for students that qualify for Canada Student Aid.  We also have several Bursaries available to qualifying students.
